Background
Packet Radio has gained prominence within Santa Clara County as a critical digital messaging platform. Santa Clara County OES and County RACES has made invested in developing and building out a reliable packet infrastructure to serve the 15+ jurisdictions located within the County.
Cupertino ARES members have built up their own packet systems, but there have not been enough to completely Cover the 7 ARK sites located in the City. CARES proposed and built up seven standard packet kits, and have held field training with them. These kits are now commissioned and in service.
