Membership Information

Are you interested in joining the Cupertino Amateur Radio Emergency Services organization?

We would be glad to have you join.  The best way to get involved with CARES is to come to one of our monthly meetings.  These meetings are on the first Thursday of every month from September through June at 7:30 pm in Conference Room 100 at  Cupertino City Hall. Click here for a map

Applications
1.  All prospective members must complete a membership application.  Fill it in and send it to the address listed at the bottom of the form, or bring it to your first CARES meeting.

2.  Additionally, a Disaster Service Worker (DSW) form must be filled out and returned to the Cupertino Office of Emergency Service.  Bring this with you to your first CARES meeting.

3.  While not required, CARES members are encouraged to consider membership in the Silicon Valley Emergency Communications System (SVECS), an amateur radio organization that is affiliated with Santa Clara County, and supports and promotes emergency preparedness.  An SVECS application is found here.
