- SEMS - Standardized Emergency Management System. The Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) is the cornerstone of California's emergency response system and the fundamental structure for the response phase of emergency management. See the California's SEMS program for more details.
- ICS - Incident Command System. The Incident Command System (ICS) is a systematic tool used for the command, control, and coordination of emergency response. ICS is a subcomponent of the National Incident Management System (NIMS), as released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2004.
- EOP - City of Cupertino Emergency Operations Plan (2005). The EOP is a framework for guiding Cupertino city personnel to respond to an emergency when it happens for the risks and hazards that the City may face. The ultimate intent is to address the needs of all people located within the city.
